Novavax COVID-19 vaccine
Health Canada has authorized the use of a two-dose Novavax Nuvaxovid® COVID-19 vaccine (Novavax) for adults in Canada.
Novavax is a non-mRNA, protein-based vaccine that is available to individuals aged 18 and over who:
- have not yet received any doses of COVID-19 vaccine, wish to receive the Novavax vaccine and do not have a contraindication to it.
- experienced an allergic reaction to a previous dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna) and/or other contraindications to an mRNA vaccination (excluding myocarditis or pericarditis).

The Novavax vaccine will be administered at a BCHU clinic within Brant and clients will need to be available at a date and time determined by BCHU. Clients will be contacted by BCHU in advance with further details on where and when to receive the vaccine.
