Healthy Growth and Development
The early stages in life are important for children's learning, development, as well as their overall health and wellbeing. Our Healthy Growth and Development program supports families and provides services that can help answer your questions and guide you from pregnancy to parenthood.
At the Health Unit, we can help you find out if your child is meeting their developmental milestones, and support you in making sure your children have adequate nutrition.
Sleep, physical activity, connectedness, safety, and nutrition are the building blocks for children who are ready to thrive and learn when they enter kindergarten. We help support parents meet these needs to help their children reach important milestones. We also help parents to foster and build their children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. We have several options for parents to access the services that works best for them, such as parenting classes, prenatal classes, home visits, and telephone support.
