Personal Services Settings
Public health inspectors inspect facilities offering personal services where there is a risk of exposure to blood and body fluids for clients and staff. These facilities are called Personal Service Settings (PSSs)
Types of services include:

Hair salons and barber shops

Tattoo
- Body and ear piercing
- Nail salons
- Microblading and micropigmentation
- Waxing, laser hair removal
- Facials and other facial treatments (eg. Dermaroller)
Public health inspectors inspect these businesses by:
- Making sure that they comply with Ontario Regulation 136/18
- Making sure they follow infection prevention and control best practices
- Educating spa owners and workers on infection prevention and control
- Responding to consumer complaints
