Yes; the owner and staff are to ensure:
Ready-to-use disinfectants are not diluted and are used according to the manufacturer's instructions.
All reusable equipment is fully immersed in disinfectant solutions for the appropriate contact time.
Disinfectant solution is changed after each batch as per Public Health Ontario’s Guide to Infection Prevention and Control in Personal Service Settings.
Reusable equipment is cleaned with soap and water using a scrub brush prior to disinfection.
Staff are knowledgeable and practicing consistent procedures for hand hygiene.

Summary description of the IPAC lapse
During the complaint inspection it was observed that the salon was not following the requirements of Ontario Regulation 136/18- Personal Services Settings and Public Health Ontario's Guide to Infection Prevention and Control in Personal Services Settings.
The operator demonstrated that ready-to-use disinfectants were being diluted with water.
Reusable instruments were not being fully immersed in disinfectant to allow for adequate disinfection.
Disinfectant solutions were observed with floating debris indicating inadequate equipment cleaning and/or inadequate solution changes.
Equipment was not being regularly cleaned with soap prior to disinfection.
Hand hygiene by staff members providing service to the public was inconsistent.

The salon owner followed the inspector’s directions to implement the requirements of the Ontario Regulation 136/18 Personal Service Settings and the Public Health Ontario Guide to Infection Prevention and Control in Personal Service Settings at the time of the initial inspection.

Brief description of corrective measures taken
Disinfectant concentration was observed to be appropriate at time of re-inspection and owner was aware of the required concentration for disinfectants on-site.
Disinfectant solution was found to be free of debris and was confirmed to be changed after each batch as per Public Health Ontario's Guide to Infection Prevention and Control in Personal Service Settings.
Instruments were observed to be fully immersed in disinfectant solution.
Educational session was conducted by PHI (with the owner present) to ensure the requirements for equipment cleaning, disinfection of reusable tools and proper handwashing procedures were communicated to all staff.
