Tobacco

We promote smoke-free lifestyles and spaces. Our goal is to protect people from the harmful effects of tobacco smoke, prevent people from starting to smoke, and support those who want to quit smoking.

Smoke-Free Ontario Act

We support the Smoke-Free Ontario Act through Ontario’s Tobacco Compliance Protocol.

As of January 1, 2016, it is illegal to sell and supply electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) and component parts (e.g. battery, atomizer) to anyone under 19 years of age.

Retailers are required to post signs about the new rules, and must ask for ID from anyone who looks like they are under the age of 25.

For more information about the Electronic Cigarette Act and how it relates to you, call 519-753-4937 ext. 470 or e-mail us at tobacco@bchu.org.
