The Brant County Health Unit supports local schools in many ways:

Our public health nurses are the Health Unit’s familiar faces in Brant schools. They are in schools to make sure our programs and services support your students and community. Your school's nurse(s) can support your schools in addressing the 5 areas of comprehensive school health:

  • Curriculum, Teaching and Learning
    • Curriculum resources available for health topics
  • School and Classroom Leadership
  • Social and Physical Environments
    • Resources for creating safe spaces for students at school
    • Environmental health support for cafeteria food safety inspections, gym inspections, safe water and health hazard investigations
  • Home, School and Community Partnerships
    • Connect you to services offered by community organizations and grant opportunities
    • Triple P Positive Parenting Program classes for the school community
  • Student Engagement
    • Support for Student Health Action Committee and other student-led groups
