Update on Health Unit privacy breach
August 12, 2016
Brantford, ON – The Brant County Health Unit wants to inform the community we have notified all of the families affected by the unintentional privacy breach first reported on August 8, 2016. If anyone is concerned their family was affected, they will have received an email or letter from the Health Unit.
"We have also completed a detailed investigation of this breach," says Dr. Malcolm Lock, Medical Officer of Health. "Although this was an inadvertent disclosure of data, at no time was our e-munization system or immunization data base accessed."
"We know our online tool is the most convenient way for parents to report their child's immunizations to us, and we want to assure them that it is a safe and secure way for them to do so," says Dr. Lock.
Parents are also welcome to report their child's immunizations by:
- Phone: 519-753-4937 ext. 451
- Fax: 519-753-2140
- Mail: 194 Terrace Hill St., Brantford, ON N3R 1G7
- In person at the Health Unit
