COVID-19 cases linked to outdoor gatherings
June 2, 2021
BRANTFORD, ON - The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) has determined there have been several COVID-19 cases linked to outdoor, social gatherings that took place between May 21 and 26.
BCHU's investigation has currently linked 12 COVID-19 cases to the following events:
Some cases attended these gatherings during the period where they could have spread COVID-19 to others. Others, who later tested positive for COVID-19, may have been exposed to the illness at these gatherings.
All those who attended these gatherings from May 21-25 would be considered a high risk contact to a case of COVID-19 and are advised to isolate for 14 days from the last gathering they attended.
BCHU would ask that all those who attended these gatherings contact BCHU to review their isolation. Please call 519-753-4937 and press '5'. Phone lines are staffed 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekends.
Those who attended these events should also review BCHU's COVID-19 Post-Exposure Resource for High-Risk Contacts for instructions on testing and isolation.
