Brant Cancer Report

The Brant Cancer Report provides an overview of incidence, survival, and mortality for all cancers and seven key cancer types: lung, colorectal, breast, prostate, skin, oral, and cervical. Incidence and mortality trends are presented over time (1986 to 2004 age standardized rates) for both sexes separately and combined, and comparisons are made to the Provincial rates. Age-specific incidence and mortality rates are also presented as well as relative survival rates for each cancer type up to five years post diagnosis. Within each section there is a discussion on the national and provincial perspective, an exploration of risk factors, and information on screening, detection, and prevention. This Report was prepared to inform decision makers and provide information that may be useful to educators, the media, and members of the public.
