  • www.sexualityandu.ca – Canadian website devoted to sexuality education and information administered by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada. 
  • www.hc-sc.gc.ca – Health Canada website that reviews sexually transmitted infections, sexual health information for parents, and healthy sexuality.  Click on “Healthy Living”, then “Sexual Health & Promotion”
  • www.goaskalice.columbia.edu – question and answer internet site produced by Columbia University’s Health Education Program.  Provides factual, non-judgmental information to assist decision-making.
  • www.womenshealthmatters.ca – Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre.  Provides information on reversible forms of birth control such as hormonal and non-hormonal methods, including birth control pills, Depo-Provera injections, condoms, IUDs, spermicides, sponges and withdrawal.  Also covers fertility awareness methods.
 
For teens…
  • www.sexetc.org – a website for teens by teens.  Advice for teens about sexuality, contraception, drugs and smoking.
  • www.iwannaknow.org – answers questions about teen sexual health and sexually transmitted infections.
  • www.itsyoursexlife.com – answers questions about birth control, sexually transmitted infections and other topics.
  • www.teenwire.com – Planned Parenthood of America’s site provides sex education information especially for teens.
 
For educators & parents…
  • www.safehealthyschools.org – Provides links to research, planning and assessment tools, lesson plans (K – gr. 12) and how-to manuals.
  • www.teachingsexualhealth.ca – website for teachers with links on how to teach sexual health, lesson plans and resources.
  • www.ophea.net – Ontario Physical and Health Education Association (OPHEA) is dedicated to supporting school communities through quality programs and services.  Website contains teacher resources and curriculum support.
  • www.sieccan.org – The Sex Information and Education Council of Canada (SIECCAN).  Includes document “common questions about sexual health education”, which provides answers to the most common questions that parents, educators, program planners, school and health administrators may have about health education.

  • www.catie.ca – Canadian AIDS Treatment Information Exchange (CATIE).  Canada’s gateway to information about HIV/AIDS.

For more information on sexual assault support…
  • www.sacbrant.ca – Sexual Assault Centre of Brant.  Provides 24 hour crisis and support line; hospital, police and court accompaniment & support; individual counseling; public education; and community events.  All services are free and confidential.
  • Sexual Assault Team at the Brantford General Hospital Emergency Department – 519-751-5507.  They are on-call 24 hours.
